Customer reviews
Actually, 4.5 stars…very good product
For the price, this is an excellent product. My only reservation is that I personally don’t find it very intuitive to use…but the directions are reasonably good for the non-AV geek. Best of all, it was here two days after I ordered it. Would have no problems recommending both product and vendor.
Takes a long time to eject discs when off, and to play when inserting a new disc
If you buy this DVD player/recorder, just be aware that if your player is off and you want to get a disc out, you are going to wait nearly 30 seconds for it to turn on, boot up, and finally eject the disc. When it is on and you insert a disc it takes approximately 15 seconds to start playing. You may say, “big deal, It makes a good recorder.” I would agree, but since ejecting and inserting/playing discs are the operations I do 90% of the time, this is a real annoyance. I had a really cheap DVD player that didn’t make me wait at all, so I guess I was used to instant response. This one takes its time to respond, but I imagine it has to do with the fact that it also supports so many different formats.
I have enjoyed how well it records discs however.
Sony DVD Recorder
I’ve only had the opportunity to use the recorder just once, but found it very easy to use. I did have some problems determining what option the cursor was highlighting, when there were only two options, but soon figured that out. I was able to record a video disc with relative ease and looking forward to copying the other 300+ discs.
Sony brand name shows through
Bought the product after reading reviews on Amazon
Was not disappointed. It performed great. The one touch transfer
to DVD feature is fantastic.
I had a Lite-On DVD Recorder. It was giving trouble when copying
DVCs from a camcorder - introduced noise, gaps and sync-loss in audio.
Re-recorded these tapes from camcorder to Sony DVD Recorder - was perfect - no problems
Thumbs up on this Sony DVD Recorder
Easy to use, and worked great. Copied all my VHS tapes to DVD and reduced a lot of clutter.
