Useful RipOff 4
I worry about Sony. I worry about all of their electromogulist peers, too. Here is confirmed again that man is the only animal that deliberately fouls his own nest. This little assembly of useful extensions should, properly, be included with the original equipment purchase, e.g., Camera. NO! to squeeze out a few more bux, the tools-you-expect are christened with a high-sounding tech name, put in a separate package and sold for twice what they’re worth. Don’t get me wrong, the set works! the elements do their thing, but when you see it, use it, throw it into a gadget bag, you begin to feel, once again, that your faith and credulity in your toys and hobbies supplier, has taken another hit. The reason I worry about this is because I ‘want’ to believe that Sony, et al, are doin’ it right. I worry that these guys that I rely on will lose their credibility completely and have a hard time bringing new goodies to market if this keeps up. In summary, the Cyber-Shot Station actually does its thing! For Form and Function it earns an “A”. For marketing strategy and customer goodwill, a lousy “D”

Nice to Have but Not Necessary 5
This docking station is a nice thing to have because you can charge the camera battery faster as opposed to plugging the camera to a power outlet, which could take about 5 hours. The station cuts that time to about a third or a half. Other than that, there’s nothing really special about it and it’s not really necessary since you can charge the battery overnight. Having a spare battery is a better option. Transferring data using the memory stick is faster than using the dock. It’s not like the Kodak Easy Share Dock’s one-push transfer button.
