Great System…Working excellently for a year now!
Great system, and even better price. Had it a year now and works excellently; once you learn which equalizer configurations are best for dvd/music, etc. bass could be a little more pronounced…but great power!!
All in all, an EXCELLENT system
Excellent and full of features I didn’t know!
Until I bought this system and a Westinghouse 30″ LCD HDTV, I’d never owned a DVD player or a TV, myself. I had no clue what to shop for.
So I took my little self down to the fair in town…oh wait, that’s a song - Actually, I went to Best Buy, Sears, and Circuit City, trying out each of the systems when I came across this one.
It didn’t blow me away, but it was a comparable mid-range price, good specs, and from a great company, so I purchased it and I was very satisfied.
Crisp audio without any noticable interference even with the standard speaker wires, and the bass is strong without distortion. There is one issue in that the sound sometimes noticable dips quieter without an actual reduction in volume (I’m not sure if it’s the DVD’s or it’s the system itself).
As for the system, I’ve noticed it seems to remember EVERY DVD ever played. I’ve put DVD’s back in months later, and it’ll start them where they left off. I’ve never met a DVD player like that, and for a little while I wondered if there was a little man inside…
For the price, it’s good. It also comes with an FM and AM tuner and you can connect a couple of periphals, like a turntable. Unfortunately, it can’t be connected to a computer, which is one major flaw if you’re trying to build your own all-in-one media center.
It supports a wide variety of sound modes and it’s quite easy to set up. It also supports component video for excellent HDTV viewing.
If you’re looking to keep from spending thousands, yet have a good system (especially say for your kid’s own little theatre room in your house), it’s not a bad buy.
Not bad
It’s a good set up for the price. Whats lacking in price, is lacking in quality.
Great Sounding? C’mon it’s the worst sounding home theater I’ve ever owned
I purchased this system after reading good reviews.
When I set up this system I immediately noticed lack of TREBLE. The system doesn’t let you adjust treble, mid-range & base but it has pre-set sounds such as Rock, Pop & so on…..
I tried all the presets but couldn’t get any crisp treble from any of the settings. I tried it with DVD, CD and the radio but there just wasn’t enough treble but just dull sound as if you’re listening to stereo system made in the ’70s. I am returning this system for either JVC or Panasonic. This is the last Sony I bought as far as home theater goes. I am extremely disappointed.
Great buy!
Wonderful system for the price! My only complaint would be that the speaker wires are not all long enough. This setup is good for a small space, but the wires don’t extend very far for a large one.
