Product Description

The MHC-BX5 Mini System delivers serious sound without taking up serious space. 95 watts per channel drives the hybrid dual 6″ woofers and built-in subwoofer, so you get powerful music that’s also accurate at any volume. There’s a 3-CD changer with Play Exchange so you can change two discs while playing another. Add a digital tuner, 10 factory EQ presets, dual full logic auto reverse cassette decks, and a full function remote, and you get a mini system that delivers big time performance. V-Groove electronically optimizes bass for maximum output with Sony’s Hybrid Dual Woofer. It delivers bass you can feel as well as hear. Hybrid Dual Woofer uses a 6-inch woofer to handle mid-bass frequencies, and this driver couples with a second 6-inch woofer that is dedicated to deep bass reproduction. Loop/Flash is a special and fun sound effects feature for CD play. Loop provides continuous repeat of a few seconds of music, and Flash provides intermittent sound play of music. DBFB stands for Dynamic Bass Feedback, which is a bass enhancement circuit that compensates for the human ear’s relative insensitivity to low frequencies at low listening levels. VACS is Sony’s Variable Attenuation Control System, which is a circuit that keeps sound clean even at high volume levels. VACS prevents amplifier “clipping” and its consequent distortion. Full-Logic Tape Transport provides electronic, rather than mechanical, control of the drive system of the cassette deck. It delivers more reliability, smoother operation, and quicker one-touch control. Spectrum Analyzer displays the tonal (bass, treble) content of your music graphically. Access tracks with the one-touch access buttons from either the front panel or from the remote. Random Play shuffles and randomly plays every track in complete random order without repeating a single track, until all selections have played.

MHC-BX5 5
Wow. The MHCBX% is the best mini system you can get, for that price! (price) Canadian isn’t bad for something that rocks the house! It out performes every JVC minisystem, especialy competing with the JVCMXJ500. They are both the same price, but the JVC is measured diffrently. (watts) The sony is measured in RMS, bringing 95 watts of power for the 3 way double ported, dule hybrid woffer speakers. The JVC, (along with most other mini system manufacturers…), power rating in watts is decieving. I have turned a JVC up all the way, with 240 watts of power. Yow would think that that much power would really kick…, but no. If it was measured the same as the sony MHCBX5, it would have a TOTAL of 95 watts of power, and then, that would have to be divided by both speakers…yuk. The sound is ver distorted (static), and the EQ setings are hard to adjust. THe sony has what you could call a “joy-stick”, an with a press of a button, you can move the equalizer settings, NO PROB’. THe bass on the sony rocks, and neihbos hate it. They really hate it. The mids and highs are great to. Tweeteres on this thing SCREAM the high notes better then any other stereo in this price range. (and MUCH more to!!) Movies are great, and are assisted by the Sub wofers, and the Cinama space sound feature, and the power. I watched RED PLANET, and the bass was shaking stuff apart, and The Cinama space sound makes it sound like you have 4 speakers. The timer functions, and sleep timer stuff is really cool, and I can make sure Im never late for school, or work!! Also, the 3 DISK CD changer (its a carasle), is great. Its quik, and it can change 2 CD’s while the other one is playing. Panasonics CAN’T do that. None of them. THe sonys tape player is good to. The remote control is nice as well. Yow can control sleep timers, music trac, and tape functions, tuning, band selecing, preset equlizer settings, and a coupla’ cool DJ effecs. THere are alot of preset equlizer settings, including ones for TV and movies, and even video games. Overall, I would say this is the best stereo for the price, and for sure out performes other stereos that cost a lot more. I gave it 5\5 because of the great features and sound, and I recomend this to everyone.

This System is the best Value 5
I recently bought this amazing system; boy was I impressed. It had excellent bass and crystal clear sound quality. It was also rated best buy in Consumer Reports. I would recommend this stereo to anyone, but make sure you have a space to put the system it is rather large.

Just Great! 5
This stereo is an amazing piece of technology, it is good looking, and sounds amazing! The one feature that makes it better than all the others is a little button labeled V-GROOVE, this is the most amazing X-BASS feature I have ever encountered, it makes ANYTHING sound good. Get this stereo, you will not be dissapointed.

wonderful 4

Trust the Brand, SONY! Great Sound! Great Bass! Great Look! 5
I had TEAC executive micro system (MC-D80), which I bought for $299. Although the system looked good, the weak 20 watt/ch sound gave me nothing but, disappointments. Executive microsystems have the looks, but lack the sounds! So I bought this Sony MHC-BX5 to satisfy my buring desire of BASS and LOUD Room-filling sound. I wasn’t sure about my purchase at first, but as soon as I powered it on, my room was trembling with great BASS and LOUD, CRISP sounds. It handled Korn, Mozart, and Jay-Z, the ways they should’ve been! This system is what you should buy, before it sells out. Sony MHC-BX5 has 3-way, ported speakers (with dual 6″ woofers) with 95 watts/ch!! There are more powerful systems around, say JVC MX-J900 for $400, but are they worth $150 more? I don’t think so, because we won’t recognize the difference anyway. Let’s talk about the look. Unlike other brands, JVC’s UGLY Robot-looking, or Panasonic’s plain plastic case, this one has clean Chrome finish with beautiful LED EQ.

What can I say more? You must trust the brand name, SONY! I am glad that I did!!
